24GoodDeeds is an Advent calendar which collects donations for social and ecological projects. Behind each little calendar door you will find a genuine project. Each project is made possible with one donation. For example, a cocoa plant for a small farmer in El Salvador, or a meal for a child in Nepal.
You can order the calendar online for a donation of 24 Euro or more.
The Advent calendar is a charitable initiative by the organization 24GoodDeeds e.V. The organization was founded in 2011. Our office is in Berlin. The seat of the organisation is in Düsseldorf.
In total, 24 projects from the fields of health, education, nutrition and environmental protection will be financed thanks to your donation. Every day you can find out what your donation is actually used for and whom you are helping behind the little doors of the calendar, with more information available on our website.
24GoodDeeds supports the fundraising of charitable organizations with a donation-based Advent calendar. Donors give 24 Euro or more for the calendar and enable 24 social and ecological projects, which are selected yearly by 24GoodDeeds. The calendar donations are then transferred to the partner organizations which implement the good deeds locally.
All organisations describe a good deed in the calendar which can be implemented for 0.75 Euro. In that way, your donation not only implements the good deed, but also enables the production of the calendar as well as the work of our organization
Alongside the conscientious project selection and the thorough verification of the organizations, we check the use of the donations with the following mechanisms: first we write a contract with every organization about the exact implementation of the good deed. Then we oblige all participating organizations to document the implementation with reports, supporting documents and photos for us. Our organization is also committed to transparency. That is why, each year, we report about our activities and use of funds.
Sebastian Wehkamp had the idea towards the end of 2010. He was struck by the fact that many people actually like to donate, but that they are called upon to do so through photos which arouse pity and a guilty conscience rather than concrete information about their projects or goals.
His aim was to make the donation process something fun, but which would also reassure donors that their donations would serve a meaningful purpose. That’s how the idea for 24GoodDeeds came about. With the calendar, you support 24 aid projects with a single donation and behind each little calendar door, you learn what exactly will be achieved with your donation.
With the 24GoodDeeds calendar, we want to support organizations financially which are engaged worldwide with social justice and environmental protection. Furthermore, we want the calendar to create awareness about global challenges and encourage more social engagement.
24GoodDeeds is financed fully through voluntary donations. 75 per cent of the donation funds for the calendar are then transferred to the participating organizations to implement the good deeds. 25 per cent of the donation funds are used to produce the calendar and to fund the work of the organization.
The calendar can be given as a present to family and friends or to companies searching for more meaningful gifts for their clients and partners than the usual pens and other corporate gifts – we can add your company logo to the calendar on request.
School classes also order the calendar and teachers can shape their classes, thanks to the detailed information packs, to the projects and countries involved. For this there is a special registration process for teachers.
Last but not least, anyone can of course enjoy the pleasure of a calendar and receive one for themselves!
The 24GoodDeed calendar exists in German, English and French. The detailed information on the projects, which is available on our website during Advent, also appears in all three languages as of 2019.
The Advent calendar will be sent as a large letter by the Deutsche Post. We also deliver abroad. Simply select the correct country on the online order form.
Of course you can also give the 24GoodDeeds Advent calendar to family, friends or acquaintances. In that case, we include a greetings card in which you can add your personal Advent greeting message. Simply type this into the corresponding box when you complete your order online.
24GoodDeeds takes data protection very seriously. Personal data is only retained for technical purposes and it is carefully administered. Under no circumstances will data be sold or given to third parties other than for the purpose of sending the calendar. We do not save bank details. Our order system is TLS/SSL encrypted.
Donations made in error will naturally be transferred back immediately. Please contact us about this if necessary at: info@24guteTaten.de.
Yes, your donation is tax-deductible. 24gutetaten e.V., our German registered non-profit name, has been recognised as a charity by the Düsseldorf-Süd tax authority with an exemption notice, dated 19 February 2018.
In Germany, for donations up to 200 Euro, a bank statement showing the amount is enough for the German tax authority. If you need a donation receipt simply contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. For larger amounts you will automatically receive a donation certificate from us at the end of the year.
You can also support the calendar without ordering one. Please contact us at: email@example.com.
75 per cent of your donation make the projects in the 24GoodDeeds calendar possible. The other 25 per cent enable the production of the calendar and the work of our organization.
The calendar is sent by the Deutsche Post and the delivery time is four working days maximum. If the calendar hasn’t arrived, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send the calendar once more.
The selection of the good deeds is the organization’s core activity. Every year, non-profit organizations can apply for a little door in the calendar. In 2019 we selected 24 projects out of 119 applications. The calendar projects chosen undergo strict selection criteria. Our goal is to support especially sustainable, impactful and also transparent projects.
Details regarding our selection process can be found here.
The projects to be included in the 24GoodDeeds calendar are selected yearly. You can find all details about your application, our criteria for support and how to collaborate with us here. Any organization which is registered as a charitable not-for-profit organization in Germany can apply.
The application process for the calendar generally begins in the first quarter of each year. In our NGO newsletter you will experience exactly when the next round of application will start.
